Dr. Cheryl Delk-Manager

Dr. Cheryl Delk-Manager: Youth Mental Health Program at Mental Health Association Oklahoma. In 2017, I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Ph.D. in Human Sciences specializing in adolescent development. I was the first ever "Julie Branch Staton" Outstanding Graduate Student Award. In May of 2008, I earned my Master of Science degree in Human Development & Family Science from Oklahoma State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in May of 2006 from Oklahoma State University. In May 1989, I graduated with an Associate of Arts in Spanish from Tulsa Community College.

 

I have ten years of research experience in family interactions and adolescent development in qualitative and quantitative methods on The CAP Family Life Study, Families & Health Study, Family & Youth Development Study, Family Demography Study, and Youth Homelessness. My professional academic experiences include Professor of Record in the Human Development and Family Science Department at Oklahoma State University for seven years and Tulsa Community College in the Sociology Department for one year. My professional work with families has extended over ten years. I have work experience in special education, family science, and family service focused on prevention and intervention for at-risk families and adolescents. Since 2020, my focus has been on youth and young adult mental health, behavioral health, and Suicide Prevention. In my current position, I present mental wellness education for children and youth in 2nd through 12th grade. I conduct training in Adolescent Development and Suicide Prevention for community partners using the Talk Saves Lives curriculum. Based on Senate Bill 21, I train Oklahoma Educators using the Lifelines curriculum.
