Topic: Innovations in Linkages and Referrals
Description: Innovative linkages and referrals programs are showing improved outcomes among individuals experiencing mental health conditions. Designed and delivered by Peer Specialists with lived experience, these programs are increasing engagement with, and commitment to, the recovery process. Higher levels of retention are a result of the social support that are at the center of peer-led services. This webinar discusses how the practices included in the CSU PeerLink and RMHI Peer Engagement programs have extended peer-to-peer outreach and use of recovery services.
Speakers: Ben Harrington, CEO of the Mental Health Association of East Tennessee, Lisa Ragan, Director of Consumer Affairs and Peer Recovery Services for Tennessee’s Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and Tamara Martin, Director of the Tennessee Mental Health Consumers’ Association Peer Intensive Care Program. Tamara has nine years’ experience in higher education and nineteen years in counseling. Tamara holds a Master of Human Relations, a branch of Psychology, which enables her to communicate with a wide range of clients and staff.
