Dr. Deborah E. Purge is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has over 27 years of experience working with children and families. Dr. Purge has had the opportunity to work with many diverse populations through her work with the Early Childhood Intervention Program, the Public School System, and as an Adjunct Professor. In her role as Family Therapist, she has addressed a myriad of issues facing the family, including but not limited to, domestic violence, depression, self-esteem, anxiety, child abuse, divorce, family dynamics and parenting, and other concerns facing the family. Dr. Purge currently manages one of Dallas ISD’s thirteen Youth and Family Center within the district that provides comprehensive mental health services for students and families. In her role as Center Manager, she oversees the services offered by mental health clinicians and psychiatrist; develops and implements programs to better meet the mental health needs of students; and works collaboratively with the community to increase mental health awareness. Dr. Purge’s goal is to make a difference in the lives of students and families and to help students to improve their mental health wellness so that they can be academically successful.
