In sponsorship with DOJ and SAMHSA, NASMHPD partnered with ASCA, APPA, NASADAD and other key organizations to release a report, Adults with Behavioral Health Needs under Correctional Supervision: A Shared Framework for Reducing Recidivism and Promoting Recovery , which lays out a framework for reducing the significant number of adults with behavioral health conditions who cycle through the correctional system.

In sponsorship with SAMHSA, NASMHPD and EDC developed a toolkit to help the one out of every fifteen high school students who attempt suicide each year. Preventing Suicide: A Toolkit for High Schools aims at reducing the risk of suicide among high school students by providing research-based guidelines, screening tools for identifying teenagers at risk and resources for taking appropriate measures to provide help.
