NASMHPD Prevention Center's webinar on Sustaining Primary Prevention Programming in Behavioral Health
The nation has become increasingly aware of the importance of prevention strategies for improving overall health and productivity. To bring these interventions to scale, states and communities are experimenting with new approaches for funding prevention activities. In this webinar, the presenters review existing mechanisms and preview some developing approaches that may hold great hope for underwriting primary prevention and health promotion activities. The speakers focus on Federal mechanisms that are part of the Affordable Care Act, along with innovative strategies that use health insurance funding, as well as new private funding mechanisms, that may help states and localities expand prevention programming, realize savings, and improve human capital.
