NASMHPD Prevention Center's webinar on Improving our Nation’s Well-Being: Updates on Behavioral Health Promotion/Prevention Research
The past thirty years have witnessed an unprecedented improvement in our ability to prevent many mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. This webinar reviews the evidence on prevention that led the Institute of Medicine to conclude that we have the potential to ensure that virtually every young person arrives at adulthood with the skills, interests, and health habits that they need to lead a productive life in caring relationships with other people. The webinar describes carefully researched programs, policies, and practices that are available from the prenatal period through adolescence to foster well-being and prevent mental and emotional problems. Information is also provided about the return on investment for these valuable activities.
