NASMHPD Prevention Center's webinar on Understanding and Reducing Behavioral Health Disparities
The presenters provide an overview of the causes and impacts of health disparities and discuss strategies to increase the availability of culturally-competent care for under-served groups, including under-served racial/ethnic groups, LGBT individuals, immigrant/refugee populations, etc. The speakers discuss the role of leadership in these efforts, as well as the benefits of cross-cultural collaboration. In addition to discussing disparities in behavioral health, they also touch on the linkage with efforts to enhance broader heath equity.
